BRYAN MAN SENTENCED TO 13 LIFE SENTENCES

Joshua Ryan Herrin (Brazos Co. Jail)

A Bryan man was sentenced to 13 life sentences after being shuffled back and forth between the Brazos County and Robertson County Courthouses on Friday.

46-year-old Joshua Herrin pled guilty to a lengthy list of charges.

The charges stem from a 2022 incident that began when Bryan Police Officer Najee Wilson pulled Herrin over for a traffic stop. Herrin shot Wilson and stole his patrol car.

He then led authorities on a multicounty manhunt, which led to him shooting Brazos County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brittany Re, and later getting shot himself.

The District Attorney’s Offices in both counties said that Herrin admitted to all of the charges against him, which included Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Burglary of a Building, three counts of Theft of a Firearm, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, three counts of Aggravate Assault on a Public Servant, Attempted Capital Murder, Evading Arrest, and Deadly Conduct.

He received seven life sentences in Roberston County and six life sentences in Brazos County.
