BLINN CROSS COUNTRY RECEIVES ALL ACADEMIC AWARDS

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently recognized men's and women's cross country athletes in the NJCAA, NAIA, and NCAA divisions for their academic and athletic success during the 2024 season.

Among those honored were Blinn College men's and women's runners Fernando GarzaMia GuillenJuliana JeansonneSophie Pyle, and Clare White.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA Individual All-Academic Award, student-athletes needed a 3.40 grade point average or higher and had to compete in either a regional or national championship. 

The Buccaneer women also earned an All-Academic Team Award (minimum team GPA of 3.20) with a GPA of 3.60.

The 2024 campaign marked Blinn's return to junior college cross country after last competing in 1994, and both the Buccaneer men's and women's teams each participated in the NJCAA Division I Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships in Richmond, Va.
