SAN ANTONIO MAN ARRESTED AFTER TRAFFIC STOP UNCOVERS COCAINE AND MARIJUANA
An early morning traffic stop near Sealy led to the arrest of a San Antonio man.
On Sunday, around 1am, an Austin County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 10 at the 718 Mile Marker.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 26-year-old Marcos Gilberto Alcala.
During the course of the traffic stop, Alcala gave deputies conflicting information related to his travel plans.
The Austin County Dispatch confirmed that he had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Hidalgo County.
Alcala was taken into custody at the scene for the active warrant.
A search of the suspect’s vehicle resulted in the seizure of 118 grams of Cocaine and 20 grams of Marijuana.
Alcala was transported and booked into the Austin County Jail without incident for charges of Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and the active warrant for Failure to Appear on a charge of Interference with an Emergency Request for Assistance.
