BURTON SWEEPS DOUBLEHEADER OVER SOMERVILLE
The Burton Panther and Lady Panther Basketball Teams both picked up wins last (Tuesday) night as they swept a doubleheader over Somerville.
The Burton Lady Panthers had a dominating 68-9 victory over Somerville in the opener. Burton jumped out to a 26-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Lexi Broesche led the Lady Panthers with 20 points, while Adison Harmel added 15 points, and Aerynn Huntsman finished with 11 points.
With the win, Burton finished district in third place. They will now get ready for the playoffs. Bi-District information is to be determined.
In the second game of the doubleheader, it was the Burton Panthers beating Somerville 76-60.
It was a big night for K.D. Patterson, who finished with 32 points. Eli Simank and Greyson Mathis had 12 points each.
The Panthers have a bye on Friday night, and will finish the regular season next Tuesday night by hosting Snook at 7:30pm at the Burton High School Gym.
