BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS TO GASOLINE SPILL

The Brenham Fire Department was called out twice on Sunday.

Shortly after 10 a.m., firefighters received a report of a vehicle leaking gas in the 200 block of West Alamo Street.  They arrived to find a single vehicle in the roadway and spoke with the driver, who advised she had spilled gas while trying to fill her vehicle up.  The department cleaned the roadway and returned to service.

Just past 6:15 p.m., Brenham units and the Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department went out to a report of a tree on fire in the 3100 block of Old Gay Hill Road.  Gay Hill volunteers found a log smoldering in the ditch and cancelled Brenham’s response.
