CUBETTES FIRST GAME OF LEADOFF CLASSIC TO SANTA FE 12-2
The Santa Fe Lady Indians use a big fifth inning to defeat the Brenham Cubettes 12-2 in the first game of the Leadoff Classic earlier today (Thursday).
Santa Fe jumped out to a 3-0 lead off of starting pitcher Laityn Davis in the first inning.
Brenham got on the scoreboard in the third inning with a two run triple by Sarah Mabie that scored Aldyn Jaks and Avery Maurer that cut it to a 3-2 game.
Maurer and Mabie had two hits each.
However, the Lady Indians would explode for nine runs in the top of the fifth to put the game away.
Next up for the Cubettes, they will take on Judson this (Thursday) afternoon at 5pm at Alumni Field.
