Katherine Inestroza was selected to participate in the live auction on March 16th with her oil painting, “Grazing Bison”.
According to Brenham High School art instructor Stephen Henry, over 32,000 students in Texas submit for the show, but only 100 are chosen for the live auction, meaning Inestroza is among the top third of 1 percent of show participants.
The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo’s School Art Program currently supports approximately 130 different school districts, including private and parochial schools, in the Houston area.
Henry calls Inestroza’s work “a great effort from a beautiful soul” and thanks her for “adding some sunshine to our lives.”
