BRENHAM JUNIOR HIGH’S ONE ACT PLAY WINS BIG AT ZONE COMPETITION

Brenham Junior High School’s One Act Play troupe put on a stellar performance at the Zone competition held on Friday at Magnolia High School.
Competing against four other schools, the cast and crew of “Treasure Island” brought home several awards. They include:
- Daniel Rivera: Honorable All-Star Cast
- Jazzmyne Johnson: Honorable All-Star Cast
- Christian Pratt: All-Star Cast
- Audrey Evans: All-Star Cast
- Bruce Avalos: All-Star Crew
- BJH: Zone Best Crew
- BJH: Zone Alternate
Brenham Junior High School Theatre Arts Director Rylie Patrick says she is incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication and growth shown by students, adding, “This achievement is a testament to their commitment and passion for the arts.”
The performances of the cast and crew were judged by Mike Doggett, who evaluated the shows and selected the winners. Hannah Figer served as the backstage judge, determining the crew awards.
Brenham ISD called Brenham Junior High School’s production “a standout performance” and says it looks forward to seeing what comes next for the One Act Play team.
Way to go Jr High Theater Arts!! And Congrats to Rylie Patrick for being able to do all this without a decent budget!! We need to support the arts in our schools with funds like we do the athletics programs!!
