MULTIPLE FALSE ALARM CALLS FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to five calls on Wednesday and one early this (Thursday) morning, all being a form of alarm that turned out to be false.

The department was called out four times on Thursday, from around 3:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., for fire alarms at Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street.  Each time, firefighters found that the alarm was reset prior to their arrival.  After they determined the alarm system was having issues, maintenance was contacted and the department returned to service.

Approaching 7 p.m., BFD members were dispatched to a fire alarm at the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South.  They made location to find the alarm had been reset.  They then checked with building personnel, who advised it was a behavioral issue.  Firefighters returned to the station.

Just after 5 a.m. today, units went out to a carbon monoxide alarm at a home in the 1200 block of Woodson Lane.  They found a bad detector causing the alarm to go off.  No other issues were found, so they cleared the scene.
