WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO VOTE ON BIDS FOR EMS PROJECTS
Bids for two Washington County EMS projects will be considered by Washington County Commissioners on Tuesday.
The court will first act upon accepting a bid from Concrete Solution, LLC of Chappell Hill for the EMS Station #2 parking lot project, in the amount of $79,800. The project will entail hauling off and removing existing base material, grading and compacting the subgrade, installing 13,000 square feet of new concrete along with necessary expansion and seal joints, and performing final grading to ensure proper drainage and a uniform surface.
In July, commissioners agreed to sell land on the property where the station is located, in order to accommodate TxDOT’s Highway 290 cloverleaf project. The state paid the county $348,000 for the land.
After that item, the court will take up an item to reject bids for the EMS Station #6 project at Lake Somerville. The agenda reads that the rejection is “due to lack of response.”
Later, commissioners will bring back a change order to a contract with Phoenix I Restoration and Construction, LLC for courthouse life safety repairs. The repairs were initially approved at the court’s meeting on January 28th, but the change order was tabled at the most recent meeting, with Commissioner Kirk Hanath saying it needed to be reviewed by the Texas Historical Commission first.
In other business, the court will:
- Read a proclamation in recognition of March 2nd as Texas Independence Day in Washington County.
- Consider a master interlocal purchasing agreement with North Central Texas Council of Governments.
- Act on an oil and gas development permit for Magnolia Oil and Gas Operating, LLC on Homeyer Mountain Road in Precinct 4.
- Hear monthly reports from the sheriff’s office, county and district clerks, justices of the peace, auditor, tax assessor-collector, treasurer, constables, elections and veterans service office.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
