BRENHAM POLICE REPORT ARRESTS FOR DWI, DRUG POSSESSION
Brenham police arrested a Waller man on Monday on a DWI charge and two Houston residents early today (Tuesday) for drug possession.
Close to 8:15 p.m. Monday, Officer Garrett Downs conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Highway 36 South. Police say their investigation revealed that the driver, 30-year-old Gideon Russ, was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and did not have valid proof of insurance. Russ was booked into the Washington County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Container and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
Around 12:45 a.m. today, Officer Downs stopped a vehicle in the 2000 block of Highway 36 North for failing to display a front license plate. After investigation, police say the driver and front seat passenger were both in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 42-year-old Adrianne Greer and 61-year-old Clifton Elliot were each charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 4-200 Grams, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Elliot was additionally charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence. Both individuals were booked at the Washington County Jail.
