NEXTLINK TO BEGIN FIBER INSTALLATIONS IN BRENHAM IN MARCH
An internet service provider is preparing to begin installing fiber in Brenham.
In January, the City of Brenham entered into an agreement with Nextlink to install conduit and fiber within public right-of-way. The project, which will start on March 10th, will take place within city and state rights-of-way and is part of a larger initiative to install high-speed fiber optic infrastructure throughout the city.
The city says the fiber installation will be completed in phases over the next 1 ½ to 3 years.
Prior to construction getting underway, Nextlink will locate all existing utilities in the area using flags and paint to ensure safe and accurate work zones.
Construction crews will begin boring operations within the designated public rights-of-way, working alongside private properties. The boring will occur 2 feet from the property line within the city or state right-of-way, running parallel to the street.
Residents who have any concerns or wish to report problems related to the project can contact the City of Brenham at 979-337-7400.
