BRENHAM POLICE SEEKING OUT MAN GIVING YELLOW ROSES TO WOMEN AT WALMART, REPORTEDLY CAUSING ‘SUDDEN ILLNESS’
The Brenham Police Department is warning residents and asking for help in identifying a man seen handing out yellow roses to women at the Brenham Walmart.
In a notice sent out late Tuesday, the police department says multiple recipients of the roses have reportedly experienced sudden illness soon after receiving them.
Police urge the public to remain vigilant and avoid accepting any flowers from strangers. Anyone who sees the individual or has information regarding his identity is asked to immediately call 911 or Brenham Police Detective Andrea Guerra at 979-337-7337. Tips can also be sent by email to resourcesBPD@cityofbrenham.org.
The department says it is actively investigating this matter. Chief Lloyd Powell told KWHI this (Wednesday) morning that the department has “very promising leads.” He also said the victims are considered to be in stable condition.
Police say anyone who has received a yellow rose under similar circumstances and experienced symptoms, or knows someone else who has, should seek medical attention and report the incident to law enforcement.
