BRENHAM JV DEFEATS PANTHERS ON THE FINAL DAY OF THE BURTON TOURNAMENT
On the final day of the Burton Tournament, it was the Brenham Cub JV that rallied to defeat the Panthers 6-2.
After Brenham jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, Burton came back with Eli Jaeger scoring a run on a passed ball to tie it 1-1. Burton then took the lead on an RBI double by Tyler Witt that drove home Eli Simank to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead.
It would stay that way until the top of the sixth inning, when Brenham would put five runs on the board. The key hits were an two-run single by Brooks Roznovsky to put the Cub JV in front 3-2, and an RBI double by Hudson Hartstack.
Evan Curtis got the win for Brenham going six innings, allowing three hits, two runs, only one was earned, walking two, and striking out eight.
Tyler Witt took the loss going five innings, allowing four hits, five runs, three were earned, two walks, and striking out 10.
Next up for the Brenham JV, they will take part in the Brazos Valley Tournament Thursday thru Saturday.
The Burton Panthers will travel to Thorndale on Tuesday for a 7pm game.
