BRENHAM PD ARRESTS ONE MONDAY FOR MARIJUANA & WEAPON POSSESSION, ONE TUESDAY FOR ASSAULT
Brenham police arrested a Houston woman on marijuana and weapon possession charges on Monday, as well as a Brenham man early this (Tuesday) morning for assault.
Approaching 10:15 a.m. Monday, Officer Le’Darion Jenkins initiated a traffic stop in the 500 block of Highway 290 East. According to police, an odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle, which prompted a probable cause search. Police reported that the driver, 31-year-old Yesica Yasmin Agueta Garcia of Houston, showed to be in possession of a firearm and marijuana. Garcia was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where she was booked for Possession of Marijuana Less than 2oz. and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
At 3:15 a.m. today, Officer Danielle Corrado responded to the 2400 block of South Chappell Hill Street in reference to a physical disturbance. Initial investigation revealed that 49-year-old Jarvis Ross of Brenham allegedly assaulted a family member during an argument. Ross was placed under arrest for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member and transported to the Washington County Jail.
