BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS MONDAY TO STRUCTURE FIRE CALL PROMPTED BY APPLIANCE ISSUES

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to one call on Monday.

At 3 p.m., firefighters received a report of a structure fire at a home in the 500 block of Hillside Drive. 

Upon arrival, the department found nothing showing from the exterior of the home.  Once units entered, however, they found a light haze throughout the home. 

Personnel determined that the water heater was leaking water, which caused the breaker to trip.  Additionally, they discovered that the A/C unit caused the home to fill up with smoke.

The department turned the breakers off to the A/C and ventilated the home.  They also advised the homeowner to have a plumber and an A/C repair service come out to perform repairs.
