LAKE CREEK HANDS CUBS FIRST DISTRICT LOSS 16-2

It was a rough night at Fireman's Park for the Brenham Cub Baseball Team as they lost their first district game to the Lake Creek Lions 16-2.

Lake Creek jumped out an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

The Cubs came back to tie it in the bottom of the first. Brody Tucker walked, and Brady Rau came in to courtesy run for him. Rau would later score on an RBI double by Landry Mendoza to even the score at 1-1.

The Lions would then break the game wide open with six runs in the second, and three runs in the fourth to take a 10-1 lead. Brenham got one run back in the bottom of the fourth on a solo homer by Luke Hardy.

Lake Creek finished it off with one run in the fifth inning and five more in the seventh.

The Cubs drop to 11-7-1 on the season and 2-1 in district. They will face Lake Creek again on Friday night at 7pm. KWHI will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 6:35pm.
