BRENHAM PD ARRESTS ONE ON ASSAULT & EVASION CHARGES, ONE FOR FRAUD, ANOTHER ON MULTIPLE WARRANTS

  

Three people were arrested by Brenham police on Thursday on a range of charges, including assault, driving while intoxicated, evading arrest and credit card fraud.

At 12:30 p.m., Officer Morong and Officer Jackson responded to NAPA Auto Parts in the 1100 block of South Austin Street in reference to a theft.  The caller reported that someone stole his credit card off the counter.  Officers located the suspect, 67-year-old Bobbie Ray Simmons of Brenham, on South Market Street.  Police reported that Simmons had allegedly attempted to use the credit card and had it in his possession.  Simmons was arrested for Fraudulent Use/Possession of Credit/Debit Card Information and transported to the Washington County Jail.

At 5:30 p.m., Investigator Guerra, Sergeant Ha and Deputy Martinez stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Sycamore Street after conducting a stakeout.  34-year-old Blake Richard Blundell Jr. of Brenham was taken into custody for five felony warrants and transported to the Washington County Jail.  Online jail records show he is charged with four counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Abandoning/Endangering a Child with Intent to Return, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility and Display/Expired Registration.

At 10 p.m., Officer Downs was dispatched to the 1900 block of Northview Circle Drive.  Investigation revealed that 42-year-old Clyde Williams of Brenham allegedly assaulted a victim in a lapsed physical disturbance.  Police say Williams evaded them in a vehicle, leading to a pursuit.  Williams crashed his vehicle in the 300 block of North Park Street and was placed into custody.  He was booked for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member, Driving While Intoxicated 2nd, Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle and Reckless Driving.  The police department reports that the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, DPS and Blinn College police assisted with the secondary crashes caused by Williams.
