COLLEGE STATION RALLIES TO DEFEAT CUBETTES 8-2

Kinley Antkowiak (Gwynne Mabie)

On a day where they celebrated the 2005 State Championship Team's 20th Anniversary, the Brenham Cubettes lost to College Station 8-2 in District 17-5A play.

Things looked promising early as the Cubettes jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Aldyn Jaks beat out a bunt for an infield hit. Jaks stole second, and then went to third after Harper Castillo reached on an error. Jaks and Castillo then scored when Stella Landry reached on another College Station error to make it 2-0 Cubettes.

Laityn Davis and Kylie Baker were able to keep College Station in check until the top of the fifth inning. The Lady Cougar offense erupted for six runs to take a 6-2 lead. They would add two more in the sixth for the 8-2 lead, and later the win.

With the loss, Brenham drops to 12-9 overall and 3-4 in district. They have a bye on Tuesday, and will be heading to Montgomery next Friday for a 6:30pm game.
