FAITH MISSION HOSTING ICE CREAM SOCIAL THURSDAY FOR CANNERY CENTER CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

  

Faith Mission welcomes the public this Thursday to enjoy ice cream and learn more about a project intended to provide jobs and education for the community. 

The ice cream social, sponsored by Blue Bell Creameries, will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Cannery Kitchen in Brenham.

Faith Mission Executive Director Reverend Randy Wells, speaking during last week’s county commissioners meeting, said the event will help raise awareness and funding for the organization’s planned cannery center.  It will serve as the site of a job training program where people can learn how to can goods and acquire other job skills.

Rev. Wells said the social will feature special ice cream flavors not available in stores, as well as an appearance from Darrell Johnson, winner of season 10 of the Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race.

The ice cream social is free and open to all.
