SEARCH ON FOR GRIMES CO. INMATE WHO ESCAPED FROM HOUSTON BEHAVIORAL HOSPITAL

  

Authorities are searching for a man with ties to the Brazos Valley region who escaped this (Monday) morning from a behavioral hospital in Houston.

According to the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Scott Evan Shepple was last seen around 8:45 a.m. at the Cypress Creek Behavioral Hospital at 17750 Cali Drive. 

The sheriff’s office said Shepple was transported to the hospital from the Grimes County Jail, where he had been held since December on charges including Sexual Assault, Resisting Arrest and Assaulting a Peace Officer.  He has active warrants in Grimes and Brazos counties.

Shepple is described as “suicidal” and someone with “violent tendencies”.  According to the sheriff’s office, he has “made statements in regard to ‘suicide by cop.’”

Shepple is 5’5”, 175 lbs and bald, with blue eyes and multiple tattoos on his head and neck.  He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt and dark gray pants.  He is said to have contacts in Grimes, Trinity and Walker counties.
