LADY PANTHERS CONTINUE TO ROLL WITH 14-0 WIN OVER SOMERVILLE

The Burton Lady Panther Softball Team improved to 8-0 in district with a 14-0 run-rule win over Somerville last (Monday) night.

The Lady Panthers got it started with a seven-run first inning. Reagan Roemer led off the game with a triple. The next batter up, Natalie Hodde, was hit by a pitch. Amaya Williams followed with a two-run double to bring them both around to score, and give Burton a 2-0 lead.

Lexi Broesche singled home Williams. Broesche later scored on an infield hit by Paige Fritsch. Bailey Glaesmann hit a double. Laci Broesche brought home Fritsch afterwards with another single. That extended the Burton lead to 5-0.

Aerynn Huntsman drew a walk to put two batters on base. Roemer then singled home Glaesmann and Laci Broesche to make it 7-0 Lady Panthers.

Burton would get two more runs in the second inning. Lexi Broesche led it off with a single followed by Paige Fritsch slugging a two-run homer. This put the Lady Panthers ahead 9-0.

Burton would then put the exclamation point on the game with a five run inning in the top of the third. Roemer led off the inning with a triple, and then scored when Hodde reached on an error. Williams hit her second double of the game to score them both. Two batters later, Fritsch hit her second two-run homer of the game.

The final run came when Glaesmann walked, Kelsie Hohlt pinch ran, and later scored on a bases loaded walk to Jennifer Lopez to give Burton a 14-0 advantage.

Glaesmann pitched the first three innings and picked up her 11th win of the season. Lexi Broesche closed it out by going the final two innings.

The Lady Panthers are now 14-3 on the season. They will next face North Zulch on the road tonight (Tuesday) at 6pm.
