SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES WEEKEND INTOXICATION ARRESTS

  

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports four arrests between Thursday night and Saturday night.

Shortly after 11:45 p.m. Thursday, Deputy Presswood conducted a traffic stop in the 3700 block of SH105 for speeding.  The driver, 25-year-old Eduardo Michael Macejewski of Bryan, was found to have active warrants and was taken into custody.  Macejewski was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon (Probation Revocation), No Driver’s License, Unrestrained Child 8-16 Not Secured by Safety Belt, and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

Just before 8 p.m. Saturday, Corporal Zavala responded to an agency assist pertaining to a hit and run in Lee County.  Corporal Zavala made contact with the suspect vehicle in the 2100 block of Highway 290.  The sheriff’s office reported detecting signs of intoxication.  The driver, 24-year-old Melchizedec Emanuel Correa of Houston, was taken into custody.  After receiving medical clearance, Correa was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

Around 10:15 p.m., Deputy Brown responded to a welfare concern about a possible accident in the 7500 block of FM 50.  Deputy Brown located two individuals who stated they had been at Chilifest in Snook and were headed home.  According to the sheriff’s office, both appeared to be intoxicated, so they were taken into custody.  18-year-old Javier Oswaldo Garcia of Houston and 18-year-old Avery Nicole Applewhite of Carmine were booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of Public Intoxication.
