CHAPPELL HILL BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL RETURNS THIS WEEKEND

Chappell Hill is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors this weekend for the “Official State of Texas Bluebonnet Festival”.

The festival, in its 61st year, will run tomorrow (Saturday) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Crowds will fill downtown to shop at hundreds of juried exhibitors and vendors, enjoy live music and experience springtime in Washington County.

Chappell Hill Historical Society President Steve Trevino, speaking during last week’s KWHI Community Corner, says the festival supports the organization’s efforts to protect the history and heritage of Chappell Hill and continue sharing its many stories.

Vendors on-site will be offering home décor, arts and crafts, jewelry, clothing, gardening products, country-style food and many other items.  There will also be a children’s court for family-friendly activities.

The entertainment lineup tomorrow features Chicken Live at a Bar from 8:30 to 11 a.m., Scott Grieger from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Suzanne’s Band from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m., and Cole Annoot from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.  On Sunday, Front Porch will open from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by Anastasia Kazyak from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Admission to the festival is free.  Parking is $10, and while there is handicapped parking available, there is no space for buses, RVs or oversized vehicles.  Guests are asked to leave their pets at home.
