BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO PURCHASE INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
Burton ISD will consider several educational material purchases at Monday’s Board of Trustees meeting.
The board will look to purchase technology for the district, as well as instructional resources for math and English, language arts and reading (ELAR).
According to the posted agenda, the technology purchase will come at a cost not to exceed $75,000, while the instructional resources will each be no more than $55,000.
In addition, the board will certify the provision of instructional materials process for 2025-26 and vote on the Open Education Resources (OER) transition plan.
Also on Monday, the board will discuss a facility rental agreement, approve teacher contracts and potentially decide on using the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Risk Management Fund as the district’s property and casualty insurance provider.
In other items, board members will hear a bond construction update and recognize several student groups, including participants in basketball, one act play, powerlifting, track, golf and UIL academics.
An executive session will be held for trustees to discuss the district’s lawsuit against DSA, Circle H Dirt Work and Excavation, and Round Top HVAC.
The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the Burton ISD cafeteria.
