THREE GAS ODOR REPORTS AMONG FIVE CALLS MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department responded to five calls on Monday.
A few minutes after 7:30 a.m., units were dispatched to a crash in the 4100 block of Highway 36 North. They found a two-vehicle accident with no injuries and proceeded to remove debris from the roadway and provide traffic control. Once the vehicles were removed, the department returned to service.
Around 11:30 a.m., BFD members and the City of Brenham Gas Department were called out to a gas odor at a home in the 1700 block of Church Street. After checking the area for a leak or smell, firefighters were released from the scene by the gas department.
Just past 1 p.m., another call of a gas odor came in at West Jefferson Street and LJ Street. Firefighters and gas department employees investigated the area for a leak or smell, and firefighters were cleared to return to the station.
Approaching 1:15 p.m., the department went out to a fire alarm at Chick-fil-A, 1161 Highway 290 East. Units determined the alarm was set off by cleaning, and the alarm was reset.
Just before 8:45 p.m., firefighters received a third report of a gas odor, this one at a home in the 200 block of Heights Circle. After investigation by the fire department and gas department, firefighters were released from the scene.
