BRENHAM GOLFER KUNKEL ADVANCES TO STATE
Brenham Cubette Freshman Raylea Kunkel is going to the State Golf Tournament.
Kunkel made the Varsity Regionals at the Margaritaville Golf Course in Montgomery as an individual medalist.
She shot a 79 in Round 1 on Tuesday, and an 81 in Round 2 on Wednesday. She finished with a two-day total of 160. That score placed her as the fifth individual medalist.
The State Golf Tournament runs April 28-29 at the Legacy Hills Golf Course in Georgetown.
Kunkel is the first Brenham golfer to make the State Tournament in 20 years. The last one to do it was Kate Hathway-Shaw in 2005.
