BRENHAM PREGNANCY CENTER HOSTS COMMUNITY BABY SHOWER
Brenham Pregnancy Center, in partnership with Brenham Moms, recently hosted its Spring 2025 Community Baby Shower to celebrate and support local mothers.
The event was held at the Brenham Presbyterian Church. The Baby Shower brought together new and expecting moms from the community to receive baby essentials, encouragement, and support.
Reflecting on the event, Katlyn Marburger, Executive Director of Brenham Pregnancy Center,
stated, "It’s truly inspiring to witness so many local mothers come together, share their stories, and
receive the support they deserve. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our community, which
makes it possible for us to offer these vital resources. It’s an honor to stand alongside these mothers,
offering both practical and spiritual support as they navigate the beautiful yet challenging journey of
parenthood, whether they’re just beginning or continuing their path."
Since its launch in 2023, this biannual event has continued to grow, providing vital resources and fostering a supportive network for local families.
Each mom received diapers, wipes, and door prizes, along with a meal prepared by local volunteers.
A total of 25 moms registered for the shower, with 20 attending the event. Mothers were gifted a variety of baby items, including both new and gently used supplies. Organizers thanked businesses and local supporters for their generous donations.
Alexis Curlee, group administrator for Mom Life Brenham Facebook group, expressed, “It’s such an
amazing thing to see our community come together to support local expecting mothers during this
miraculous journey of welcoming new life! To reflect on how this was just a thought I had in my mind 2
years ago, to shower local mothers with love & support, to now having successfully hosted 4 Community
Baby Showers alongside Brenham Pregnancy Center is extraordinary. We would love to help other
counties start their own community baby shower as we have gotten a lot of inquiries from mothers outside of Washington County. A huge Thank You to everyone who donated & volunteered! We could not do this without you. “
The Spring Baby Shower was made possible by contributions from Kruse Village, Brenham Boutique, Burton Bridge Ministry, Graham Masonic Lodge #20, Bluebonnet Leather Shop, Brenham Presbyterian Church, Anchors of Hope Photography and multiple local community members.
Community resources such as WIC Faith Mission, Brenham Pregnancy Center, Focusing Families, 31:25 Ministries: Chick Church, The City of Brenham, Brenham Moms For America, Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library, Brenham Shrine Club, and Vineyard Community Closet were on hand to share vital information with attendees and connect them with ongoing services.
Brit Colanter, Group Leader of Brenham Moms For America, shared, “It was an honor to be a part of the
Community Baby Shower. We love to celebrate and support moms and families, and what a wonderful
event this is, to do just that!”
