WASHINGTON CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS ONE FOR TERRORISTIC THREAT, ANOTHER ON EVASION CHARGES AFTER PURSUIT

  

Two people were arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, one on a charge of Terroristic Threat and another on multiple charges after a pursuit.

Shortly before 5 p.m., deputies executed a felony warrant in the 300 block of Lillie Lange Road.  55-year-old Shannon Scott Raska of Brenham was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Terroristic Threat.

Just past 7 p.m., Corporal Salinas initiated a traffic stop in the 10000 block of Highway 290 East for a seatbelt violation.  Upon making contact, the deputy detected an odor of marijuana and requested additional units to assist in the search of the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office reports that prior to conducting a search, the driver fled the scene in their vehicle.  Deputies gave chase, reaching speeds in excess of 83 mph.  The pursuit ended in the 10000 block of FM 2447, at which time deputies say the driver left the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.  The driver, 21-year-old Favian Sanchez of Brenham, was apprehended and taken to the Washington County Jail. 

Sanchez was charged with Evading Arrest, Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle, Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz., Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4-400 Grams, and Reckless Driving.  A juvenile passenger was taken to the sheriff’s office and later released to their parent.
