The Burton Bridge Ministry’s new bus service is running free routes for Election Day this Saturday.
The ministry is running two routes and is signing up riders for either the morning or afternoon voting slots. Election Day voting in Burton is taking place at Burton City Hall, with voting available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
City of Burton residents have the opportunity to vote in the mayor’s race and for the Councilmember #1 and Councilmember #4 positions.
When casting a ballot in person, voters should show one of the following approved forms of photo ID: a Texas driver license, a Texas personal identification card, a passport, a Texas handgun license, a military identification card, a citizenship certificate, or a Texas election identification card.
Anyone interested in booking a bus ride to Burton City Hall can call the Burton Bridge Ministry’s Transportation Coordinator, Deborah Moore, at 979-530-5626.
The ministry’s bus service is available to all Burton residents, regardless of income level. The service takes riders to Brenham for trips to Walmart, H-E-B and Norman’s Pharmacy, or in town to Dollar General and the Manna Food Pantry.
