Dr. Walters, the owner of VIEW Brenham, is a 2025 recipient of the Outstanding Early Career Alumni Award. She was honored at a formal ceremony earlier this month in College Station, joining six other honorees from across the state.
The award celebrates Texas A&M graduates who have made exceptional contributions to their profession, community, and public service within 15 years of graduation.
A release announcing the award said Dr. Walters “personifies innovation, service and leadership” and “is advancing the future of vision care”.
Dr. Walters founded VIEW Brenham in 2023 and serves as the CEO of VIEW Optometry, clinical assistant professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry and clinic director of the Northside Eye Care Center. In addition, she serves on the Texas Optometric Association Board of Trustees and the Texas Diabetes Council.
Dr. Walters called the recognition “deeply meaningful”, saying, “I’m proud to represent Brenham, and I hope this award inspires local students—especially future Aggies—to pursue their passions and serve their local communities.”
