HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN WASHINGTON CO. AG DAY

Washington County fifth grade students attended the annual Washington County Ag Day on Thursday.

Approximately 470 students visited the Washington County Expo and checked out 12 different stations, each led by 4-H and FFA volunteers.

At the stations, students learned about corn, equine, farm safety, cotton, poultry, beef, swine, bees, entomology, vet science, lambs and goats.  They also participated in nature bingo and enjoyed a beef hot dog lunch served by the Washington County Cattlewomen, as well as Blue Bell Ice Cream.

The event has been sponsored for decades by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Washington County Farm Bureau.
