SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARRESTS FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSION, WARRANTS FOR EVADING ARREST & INVALID LICENSE
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported four arrests on Monday.
Around 7 a.m., Corporal Salinas conducted a traffic stop in the 7700 block of Highway 290 West for no front license plate. According to the sheriff’s office, the driver had active warrants in Harris County and was taken into custody. 30-year-old Darwin Ariel Amaya Gabrieles of South Houston was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon in Prohibited Places, Evading Arrest or Detention, and No Driver’s License.
At 10 a.m., Corporal Salinas conducted a traffic stop at Highway 36 North and Pledger Road for an expired registration. The sheriff’s office reported detecting an odor of marijuana and said it located marijuana during a search of the vehicle. Two occupants were placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail for booking. 29-year-old Jayvion Kristopher Hines and 24-year-old Tremayne Dorian Miles Jr., both of Houston, were each charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
At 2:30 p.m., Corporal Zavala initiated a traffic stop in the 5500 block of Highway 290 West for improper use of a turn signal. After detecting the odor of burnt marijuana, the sheriff’s office said it located a burnt blunt during a search of the vehicle. The driver, 31-year-old Damarkus Mondrell Williams of Brenham, was taken into custody due to having active warrants. He was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Driving While License Invalid Enhanced, two counts of Driving While License Invalid, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
