BRENHAM POLICE REPORT ARRESTS FOR FAMILY ASSAULT, POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES

  

Four people were arrested by Brenham police between Wednesday and early this (Thursday) morning.

Hector Jorge Orona

Shortly after 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, Corporal Jason Kasprowicz conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 800 block of West Blue Bell Road.  The driver, 21-year-old Hector Orona of La Grange, was found to have an active warrant out of Lee County for Violation of Probation.  Orona was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.

At 10:45 a.m., Officer Ramon Torres initiated a traffic stop in the 2000 block of FM 389 for expired registration.  Police say the driver did not stop and kept driving, but eventually pulled over around the 8300 block of FM 389.  The driver, 37-year-old Hector Luis Garcia Rodriguez of Houston, was taken into custody for driving a vehicle with Expired Registration and Fleeing a Police Officer.

Just past 8 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2200 block of South Chappell Hill Street.  Investigation revealed that the driver, 33-year-old Travis Roach of Brenham, had an active warrant out of Brenham Municipal Court for Driving While License Invalid.  Police say a probable cause search revealed that Roach was in possession of methamphetamines and THC.  Roach was placed into custody for the active warrant, Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram.

Around 1:45 a.m. today, Officer Garrett Downs was dispatched to the 2400 block of South Market Street for a report of a physical disturbance.  According to police, their investigation found that 30-year-old Matthew Garcia of Brenham allegedly assaulted another family member.  Garcia was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked in for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member.
