BRENHAM FD RESPONDS TO ACCIDENT, CONTROLLED BURN, FIRE ALARMS
The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Thursday and one early this (Friday) morning.
Approaching 7:45 a.m. Thursday, firefighters were dispatched to a transportation incident at Highway 290 West and Highway 36 South. They arrived to find a vehicle with damage in a parking lot and with no one around it. Once Brenham police made location, the fire department cleared the scene.
Just before 2 p.m., units were called out for a smoke investigation in the 4000 block of Highway 290 East. Upon arrival, they found a controlled burn. After speaking with the owner, they returned to the station.
Around 10 p.m., BFD members responded to Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street, for a report of a fire alarm sounding. They found nothing showing from the exterior of the building and ultimately discovered a pull station activated with no smoke or fire. After resetting the pull station and alarm system, the department returned to service.
Firefighters were called back out to Kruse Village a few minutes before 5:15 a.m. today for another fire alarm. Nothing was showing from the outside of the building, and no signs of smoke or fire were found on the inside. They reset the alarm and cleared the call.
