BRENHAM ARTIST’S NEW ALBUM DEBUTS ON MULTIPLE CHARTS
The new album from an independent alternative hip hop artist from Washington County has landed on three separate charts.
Jason Diodato, who performs as Yung Delirious, released Eye on the Sky on April 8th. The album peaked at #143 on the U.S. College Radio Charts, #1 on Bandcamp’s Alternative Hip Hop Albums Chart for New Orleans, and #31 on Bandcamp’s Alternative Hip Hop Vinyl Chart globally.
A Brenham native who graduated from Burton High School in 2017, Diodato says his inspiration for this album was rooted in transition, as writing began once he left the military in June 2022 to pursue music industry studies at Loyola University in New Orleans. That theme carries through the album, from coping with the changes in his environment to navigating the music industry and the challenges he faced as an emerging artist.
When creating songs, Diodato does not force himself, instead only writing when he feels compelled to. He says that allows him to be more genuine and honest, and he feels that authenticity is something his audience gravitates toward, as they can see themselves in the music.
Diodato is now settling into life in Nashville after graduating from Loyola University in the spring. He says he has been blessed with the people around him who have given him the skills, tools and confidence to not only further his music career, but branch out into exploring new paths such as film scoring.
Diodato hopes to inspire other artists and creators to follow their passion, saying, “Whatever you have in your heart, and whatever dreams you might have yourself, go after them. If I can do it, you can too.”
