BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS TO GAS ODOR, CONTROLLED BURN, FALSE FIRE ALARM

The Brenham Fire Department responded to one call on Monday and two early this (Tuesday) morning.

Just after 12:15 p.m. Monday, firefighters were dispatched to a gas odor at H-E-B, 2508 South Day Street.  They made location with the City of Brenham Gas Department and stood by until the gas odor was contained.

At 12:15 a.m. today, units were called out for a fire investigation in the 3400 block of Highway 290 East.  However, they were cancelled enroute by dispatch once a sheriff’s deputy arrived and found it was a controlled burn.

Shortly after 3 a.m., BFD personnel responded to a fire alarm at Kountry Boys Sausage, 1909 Longwood Drive.  Upon arrival, they found an employee cleaning, which caused the alarm to go off.  All units returned to service.
