TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARRESTS FOR POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, DRUG PARAPHERNALIA WARRANT

  

Two Brenham residents were arrested by local police following a traffic stop Monday night.

At 10:45 p.m., Brenham police officer Garrett Downs stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of West Main Street.

Police say that the driver, 39-year-old Christopher Smith, had an active felony drug warrant out of Harris County, was driving with a suspended license with eight previous convictions, and was in possession of THC.  The front-seat passenger, 31-year-old Latasha Garrett, showed to have an active warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Both Smith and Garrett were transported to the Washington County Jail.  Smith was booked in for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced, Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1b, Less Than a Gram, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram.  Garrett was booked in for her warrant.
