NEW HOME DEVELOPMENT LEADS BRENHAM BUILDING PERMITS FOR MAY

  

Residential development made up a large portion of May’s building permits issued by the City of Brenham.

Sixty-two permits were granted by the city last month for $4,987,905, and of those, 26, valued at $4,304,748, were for new homes or duplex developments. 

May’s largest individual permits were three $300,000 permits issued to Arete Property Group for new duplexes on East Main Street, Williams Street and Clay Street.  Collectively, DR Horton took out 14 permits for homes on Wilkins Valley Street and Fannin Street, totaling $2,002,796.

So far this year, 73 new homes have been permitted for $12,603,176.

Another permit of note went to Baylor Scott & White at 700 Medical Parkway, going for $205,000 toward interior remodeling.

The 62 permits for $4,987,905 last month are well above the 33 permits for $2,663,839 issued in May 2024. 

So far this year, the city has granted 178 permits worth $35,556,684.  Through this time a year ago, the city had issued 130 permits for $18,670,738.
