MAJOR ROAD DAMAGE NEAR INDEPENDENCE FOLLOWING OVERNIGHT STORMS
Some Washington County roads in the north part of the county are undergoing major reconstruction after being inundated with rain from Wednesday night’s storms.
Washington County Engineer Wesley Stolz says the Independence area received around 6 inches of rain, leading to significant damage on Rocky Hill School Road and at the intersection of Seeker Road and Old Independence Road. Stolz said the downpour was primarily located on the eastern side of Precinct 3 and the western side of Precinct 1.
According to Stolz, crews from Engineering and Development Services hope to have Rocky Hill School Road back open by the end of the day today (Thursday). Meanwhile, the shut-down at Seeker Road and Old Independence Road is anticipated to last for several days, possibly into next week.

That is NOT just water damage. That is neglect. Another example of how our Washington County refuses to spend money where it is needed.
Look around the county. There’s too much that needs upkeep BEFORE it gets this bad.
This will happen more and more if Washington County doesn’t wake up and start fixing the roads.
It appears the culvert created a vortex of spinning water causing the edge of he road to best ten away. In additi9n to the water coming over the top of the road.
