BRENHAM POLICE INVESTIGATING PAIR OF BURGLARIES, MAKE TWO ARRESTS ON INTOXICATION CHARGES
Brenham police are investigating two burglaries reported between Tuesday afternoon and early this (Wednesday) morning.
At 2 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a residence located in the 300 block of Goessler Street in reference to a burglary. The reporting party advised that an unknown person entered their home and stole items with an estimated value of less than $200.
At 3 a.m. today, officers were dispatched to another report of a burglary at a business in the 1600 block of East Blue Bell Road. Initial investigation revealed unknown suspects made forced entry through a window, damaged registers and stole money from a donation box.
Brenham police also reported two intoxication arrests on Tuesday.
A few minutes after 3:15 p.m., the department responded to a report of a hit and run crash in the 2500 block of South Market Street. Officers located the suspect’s vehicle and made contact with the driver, 67-year-old Brian Keith McCoy of Burton. According to police, the driver showed signs of intoxication, and an open alcoholic beverage was located inside the vehicle. McCoy was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Around 8 p.m., officers responded to a call for service in reference to a fight in the 100 block of Highway 290 West. Police say their initial investigation revealed that no physical altercation occurred, but they did determine that one of the subjects was found to be intoxicated. 36-year-old Chelsea Lynn Warlick of Brenham was placed into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to the Washington County Jail.
