BLINN BASEBALL SOPHOMORE STANDOUTS EDDY, QUINTANAR EARN NJCAA DIVISION 1 ALL-AMERICA HONORS
Eddy was a second-team selection while Quintanar nabbed third-team recognition
For the third consecutive season, a Blinn College baseball player has landed on the NJCAA Division I All-America list.
Only this time around, it’s two players.
On Friday, sophomore pitcher Brok Eddy and sophomore catcher Matt Quintanar were named All-Americans, with Eddy nabbing second-team honors and Quintanar receiving a third-team nod.
Since his arrival at Blinn in 2023, Buccaneers head coach Dusty Hart has produced four All-America selections, beginning with then-freshman Tanner Reaves (first-team) in 2023 and continuing with a third-team choice for sophomore Connor McGinnis last season.
That trend continues with Eddy and Quintanar, two key cogs in Blinn’s 48-15 season this spring which also featured the Bucs’ third consecutive berth in the NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series.

Eddy, a hard-throwing right-hander who transferred to Blinn following one season at Arizona State University, established himself as the ace of the Bucs’ pitching staff during his lone season in blue and white. He finished with an 11-3 record and a 2.44 earned run average to go with 90 strikeouts across 84 2/3 innings. He tossed a no-hitter against Coastal Bend College on March 1, and allowed three earned runs or less in all but one of his 16 starts.
Eddy was also a first-team selection on the Region XIV all-South team. The Brighton, Colo., native is headed to Wichita State University to continue his playing career.

Quintanar also shined in his one season as a Buc after transferring from Central Arizona College. The Region XIV South Hitter of the Year paced Blinn with a .411 batting average (95 for 211) and mashed a team-high 23 doubles to go with 15 home runs and 60 RBIs. He was also an on-base machine with a .511 clip.
Quintanar is committed to Texas Tech University.
