BLINN BUCBOOKS PROGRAM SAVES STUDENTS OVER $7.2 MILLION ON COURSE MATERIALS IN 2024-25

Blinn College District students saved more than $7.2 million on textbooks and course materials during the 2024-25 academic year, thanks to Blinn’s innovative BucBooks program offered in partnership with Barnes & Noble College.

Launched in Fall 2023, BucBooks is designed to make course materials more affordable and accessible. The program bundles required course materials for each class and provides them to students before the first day of the term. Physical textbooks are distributed on a rental basis and conveniently packaged for pickup, while digital resources are delivered directly through Blinn’s eCampus learning platform. Students pay a flat fee of $24 per credit hour during registration and receive email reminders to return physical materials at the end of the term.

In addition to reducing costs, BucBooks offers added convenience and academic benefits. According to an April 2025 survey of students who participated in the BucBooks program:

  • 96% said the program saved them time shopping for materials,
  • 93% appreciated the convenience of having materials bundled and delivered,
  • 92% said they plan to use BucBooks again,
  • 91% would recommend it to other students,
  • 87% felt better prepared for the semester,
  • and 86% said the program had a positive impact on their academic success.
