Why is the EMS not tied to the fire department then the fire department would have unlimited funding? I mean we have a service that stabilize and ship patients and they have a ten million a year budget. Where as you have a service that saves lives and property and rescues and gives traffic control but its mostly voluntary and they have to have fund raisers and beg for money. Makes zero sense to me. Oh don’t forget the EMS pay well better than anything around Texas or the nation on average. Our VFD suffer cause their is a pig at the money trough.
The ESD loss does not seem to have been a setback
It definitely did, I requested their books after the ESD loss and attended a meeting. They sat down with me and went through them with me and explained it heavily and discussed goals that cannot be achieved because of it not passing. This truck was ordered two years ago (before the ESD was a thought) and they will be paying close to $52,000 a year for the next 15 years. Their oldest first response vehicle is 31 years old. But people still seem to think that’s okay. First Response vehicles are supposed to be no older than 15 years old. But some people seem to think that’s okay and that buying old junk is a better option.
If they would still have their fund raisers in the field instead of renting the expo in Brenham, they might have more of a cash total in their account.
Explain… every fund raiser I have heard about is in Chappell Hill.
