GIDDINGS MAN ARRESTED AFTER NARCOTICS, WEAPONS, CASH SEIZED IN OPERATION

  

Nearly $100,000 worth of narcotics and cash were discovered during an operation on Monday by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office that resulted in the arrest of a Giddings man.

The sheriff’s office says it executed a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of East Boundary Street, with multiple law enforcement personnel and vehicles staged in the area as part of the operation.

The search led to officials seizing a felony amount of narcotics worth $30,000, as well as multiple firearms and over $66,000 in U.S. currency.

34-year-old Jesse Lee Garcia was arrested at the scene and taken to the Lee County Jail on charges of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 4-400 Grams; Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 200-400 Grams; and Money Laundering $30,000 - $150,000.  Additional charges are pending.

The sheriff’s office’s Criminal Investigation Division leads the case.  Investigators were assisted on scene by sheriff’s deputies and members of the Lee County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office, Giddings Police Department and Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team.
