Washington County jumped out to an early lead over Western Hills with three runs in the first inning, highlighted by hits from Tucker Plagens, Teague Sulik, Bryan Garner, and Aaron Thaler. Thaler's RBI single in the third put Washington County ahead 5-3, while Knox Brannon made a standout diving catch in left field.

The game remained tight, with both teams trading runs to enter the sixth tied at 6-6. In the final inning, Thaler, Wehmeyer, and Eckert walked to load the bases before Cohen Tompkins and Knox Brannon delivered clutch RBI hits, giving Washington County a 9-6 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Sulik closed the door on Western Hills, with Mason Kahlkake making a leaping catch at second for the final out. Washington County now advances to face Lufkin in the winner’s bracket after Lufkin’s 6-3 win over College Station.
