WASHINGTON CO. TO HOLD PUBLIC STRATEGIC PLANNING MEETINGS

Washington County invites residents to participate in a series of public meetings as part of its countywide strategic planning initiative.

The sessions will offer citizens an opportunity to share input on the county’s priorities, future goals and areas for improvement.  Each of the four meetings will be focused on the specific needs and voices of the community within each commissioner’s precinct.

Meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Meyersville Volunteer Fire Department for Precinct 1; Wednesday, July 16th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Burton Volunteer Fire Department for Precinct 4; Thursday, July 24th from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. at the Washington County Expo Event Center for Precinct 3; and Thursday, July 31st from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Washington County Expo Sales Facility for Precinct 2.

All residents are encouraged to contribute comments and feedback, which will be used to directly inform the creation of a strategic plan that guides the county’s investments, services and development for the coming years.  Topics to be covered will include economic growth, public safety and wellness, housing and infrastructure, and facility needs.

County Judge John Durrenberger says the meetings are “an important step in building a shared vision for Washington County.”  He says, “We’re looking forward to hearing directly from our residents and working together to create a strong, forward-thinking plan that serves our entire community.”
