TRIO OF BLINN BUCCANEERS SELECTED ON DAY 2 OF MLB DRAFT
Three former Blinn College Buccaneers saw their baseball dreams take a major step forward on Day 2 of the MLB Draft. Headlining the group was right-handed pitcher Bryson Dudley, who was selected in the 7th round by the Kansas City Royals after a standout season at Texas State University. Dudley’s strong presence on the mound helped him emerge as one of the top college arms in the country just a year removed from his time in Brenham.
Joining him in the draft were second baseman Connor McGinnis and current Blinn pitcher Hayden Morris, both selected by the New York Yankees. McGinnis, who spent the 2025 season with the University of Houston, was picked in the 10th round after showcasing elite defensive skills and consistent production at the plate. Morris, a right-handed pitcher who played a key role in Blinn’s World Series run this past season, was taken in the 19th round, becoming one of the few current JUCO players drafted. Their selections highlight the strength and continued development of Blinn College’s baseball program, which continues to serve as a reliable pipeline to the next level.
