According to the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy stopped a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-10 at the 721 mile marker in Sealy.

A search was conducted during the traffic stop, and a battery was located in the trunk of the car.  The sheriff’s office stated that the battery appeared to have been altered, so units requested assistance from K9 “Knox”, who indicated a positive alert to the battery.

Deputies removed the top of the battery and discovered multiple brick-shaped packages inside.  According to the sheriff’s office, the packages contained 6.7 kilograms of a white powder substance that later tested positive as cocaine.

29-year-old Celestino Leon-Noyala was transported to the Austin County Jail for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, More Than 400 Grams.
