SEVEN SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT

  

Seven people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st and 335th District Court before Judge John Winkelmann.

35-year-old Jovante Cyrus of College Station, sentenced to 2 years in prison, concurrent with his Brazos County sentence, for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 4-200 Grams, a second degree felony.

23-year-old Michael Jermaine Mays of Brenham, sentenced to 9 months in state jail for Theft of Property Less Than $2,500 with Two or More Previous Convictions, a state jail felony. 

28-year-old Adam Glenn Scott Rodgers of Brenham, sentenced to 5 years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, a state jail felony enhanced to a third degree felony.  Rodgers was also ordered to pay a $500 fine, perform 100 hours of community service and complete a drug offender education program.

40-year-old Justin Wayne Herms of Brenham, sentenced to 5 years’ probation for Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility, a third degree felony.  Herms must also pay a $500 fine, perform 100 hours of community service and complete a drug offender education program. 

44-year-old Damyan T. Porter of Beaumont, sentenced to 4 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Forgery of a Government Instrument, a third degree felony.  Porter was also fined $500 and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.

24-year-old Alyssa Nichole Tejeda of Richmond, sentenced to 4 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4-400 Grams, a second degree felony.  Tejeda must also pay a $500 fine, perform 100 hours of community service and complete a drug offender education program.

44-year-old Ronnie Dewayne Harris of Brenham, sentenced to 2 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member, a Class A misdemeanor.  Harris must also pay a $750 fine and a $100 family violence shelter fee, as well as perform 40 hours of community service.
